Podium / Oral Presentation Guidelines for NAPCON 2024 Coimbatore
At the outset we seek your full cooperation regarding time management of the conference. We are fully committed in this act.
Time for the Presentation: The presenter has to finish the presentation in 6 minutes time, and then 2 minutes will be given for the question – Answer.
*After 5 minutes – You will get an alarm beep
- Time allotted for presentation is 6 minutes. If you exceed by 30 seconds for every next 30 seconds 5 marks will be deducted. (if time taken is beyond 6 minute 30 seconds negative marks will be given)
- First slide should include the title, abstract number.
- Do not disclose your identity/ your institute
- Kindly AVOID Personal Laptops / Tablets/ Presentation devices as we cannot ensure their compatibility with the presentation system.
- The presentations must be loaded at least 2 hours prior to your session.
- In case you are not present in time, you will be disqualified. Please note that even if you have a very genuine reason for not being present at the specified time, we will not be able to entertain your request.
- You will be judged on the originality of your work, research methodology, results and discussion, quality of the presentation and interaction with judges.
- Please note that a COUNTDOWN TIMER would be positioned at the top right corner of your presentation.
- All presentations should be made in Microsoft Office (MS Office) 2010 or later only. The laptop(s) would have MS Office 2014.
- Kindly ensure that the material on the slide is relevant, in letters, numbers and computer composed. Kindly try and use fonts that are easy to read. All graphs, tables, flowcharts, diagrams, pictures and figures should be clearly visible on the screen to the audience.
- Material should normally cover 75% of the available space on the slide with adequate margins on all sides. Respecting the slide margins and sticking to the defaults that exist in the slide design would ensure this.
- The medium of storage used by the presenters can be USB Flash/Pen drive (preferable), and portable USB HDD. NO OTHER STORAGE MEDIA IS PERMITTED.
- Presenters are advised get their data in an additional format also as a backup. Please try and have only the relevant presentation in the media especially when using a USB Flash/Pen drive.
E-Poster Presentation Guidelines
General specifications
- The E-poster will be displayed on standard 42”/50” (Diagonal) LCD
E-Poster Presentation must be sent to napconcoimbatore@gmail.com before 10th Nov.2024
- File format should be Power Point (.PPT) – Sample Attached (16:9 Ratio)
- Total size of the presentation should not exceed more than 20 MB
- Maximum number of slides per E-poster, should not be exceed more than 5 slide
- All slides should be in landscape format
- Animation/movies/sounds will not be supported; please submit in a static PPT format only
Design specifications
- The E-poster needs to be created as per the example format attached
- Each slide title should be placed in a title placeholder Please see the templates for original research and case study
- The poster should be self-explanatory. Text should be brief and well organized
- It is suggested that font size of the text should be at least 26 to 36 point. The typeface chosen should be a simple and clear one. The key thing in an e-poster is the visual appeal including appropriate images.
- The correct font size depends greatly on the fonts used in the PPT and the thumb rule should be that if its visible well on the computer screen it shall be visible on the E-Poster Display Screen.
Colour suggestions:
- When using light backgrounds (white, yellow, light blue) we suggest using dark fonts (black, navy blue, dark green)
- When using dark backgrounds (blue, purple) we suggest using light fonts (white, yellow, cyan)
- Avoid using red or green in any fonts or backgrounds as they are colours that are difficult to read
- Illustrations/images/photographs used in the E-poster should be enlarged enough to show relevant details Important:
- Kindly save the PPT file by your Abstract number, and use the subject for: Email Subject: Abstract Number | Registration Number
- All E-posters will be displayed and presented at the venue in the specified area.
- Please load your E posters at least 10am on the day of your presentation.
Important:
- E-Poster Presentation must be sent to napconcoimbatore@gmail.com before 10th Nov.2024
- Delegate Name, Conference Registration Number & Category must be mentioned in the mail.
- All Applicants are requested to carry the same presentation in the respective pen-drive to avoid any technical hassle. Please ensure that the E-posters loaded your allocated slot by the specified time.
- Kindly be present near your poster during the judging time.
- You should explain your poster in brief in 5 minutes to the Judges.
