Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • The Scientific Committee invites abstract(s) for 26th Joint National Conference on Pulmonary Diseases under the AEGIS of the National College of Chest Physicians (India) and Indian Chest Society (ICS), which is scheduled, between 21st Nov. to 24th Nov.2024 at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu.

GENERAL INFORMATION :-

  • No changes can be made after online abstract submission
  • Conference registration is mandatory for abstract review by the committee, as well as for presenting papers or e-posters.
  • Last date of abstract submission is 15th September, 2024.
  • Last date for withdraw of submitted abstract is 15th September, 2024. If you like to withdraw the abstract, please contact office@napcon2024.in.
  • The selected candidates will get confirmation letter by 15th September. The abstract will be allowed for oral or e poster only if the candidate register by 30th of September. Others will not be eligible for consideration into the abstract book also
  • Abstracts/case reports must be original and must not have been published or presented at any other meeting. Abstracts/case reports should report on results of truly original research. The proposal will be reviewed according to the scientific content and ethical considerations.
  • Abstracts/case reports must be submitted online via the official conference website only. Only abstracts/case reports submitted via the online submission form will be sent to the committee for review.
  • Abstracts/case reports submitted offline by fax or e-mail or post or social media, or to any other website or through third-party sources will not be accepted.
  • As the official conference language is English, all abstracts/case reports must be submitted in English.
  • The first author should be the corresponding author and also the presenter. No change/substitution in the presenter will be permitted, once the abstract has been accepted.
  • Abstracts/case reports may be submitted for Oral presentations, E-poster short oral presentations, or E-poster (Digital Display on LED Screen) viewing. Authors are asked to indicate their preferences during the submission process. However, the decision of which abstracts/case reports are selected for each type of presentation, and their mode (Oral/E-Poster), as well as the category of presentation, is the decision and responsibility of the Scientific Committee, which will be final and binding.
  • Please choose the appropriate category related to your abstract at the time of submission.
  • The abstract must be submitted online at website https://www.napcon2024.in
  • All Submissions will be acknowledged by email only. So, please provide your current working Email ID along with your Mobile number. (We are not responsible if you do not receive any response due to the wrong email ids provided.). Please check the “SPAM” folder in your e-mail also as sometimes, our acknowledgment/acceptance emails may go there.

  9. Lung Cancer 
  10. Pleural effusion & Disorders of the Pleura
  11. Rehabilitation, Palliative and End of Life Issues
  12. PFT & Exercise Physiology 
  13. Imaging Sciences in Pulmonology  
  14. Miscellaneous 
 

Abstract Awards:

Research papers are invited in the following categories of awards, papers not submitted according to the submission rules will be rejected:

  1. NCCP(I) – Prof. Dr. S. N. Gaur’s Young Scientist Award by the National College of Chest Physicians (India) – Age not more than 35 years on 20th Nov 2024
  2. ICS – Dr.J. C. Kothari Young Scientist Award by the Indian Chest Society – Age not more than 35 years on 20th Nov 2024
  3.  NAPCON 2024 Awards – The Organizing Committee will announce the amazing Podium & E-Poster Presentation awards very soon.
 

Rules for the Abstract Submission:

Before you begin, please prepare the following information:

  1. Presenting author’s contact details:
  2. Email address | Full postal address | Phone number
  3. Author and co-authors’ details:
      (a). Full first and family name(s)
      (b). Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
  4. Preferred Presentation type: Oral Presentation, Thematic poster session
  5. Abstract/case report title – must be in UPPER CASE and limited to 25 words. Please submit symbols as words.
  6. Use generic names of drugs. The presentation must be balanced and contain no commercial promotional content.
  7. In the original research, the results have to be submitted with the abstract.
  8. No references are needed with abstract submission.
  9. Please do not submit the same abstract under more than 1 category.
  10. Each delegate can submit a maximum of 3 abstracts for the award paper / Free paper/ E-Poster category
  11. Abstract/case report text – limited to 250 words including acknowledgments.
  12. Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word appears the first time.
  13. Only metric system (SI) units should be used.
  14. Submissions may not contain patient names, hospital ID numbers, or other identifying information.
  15. Click on the SUBMIT button at the end of the process to submit your abstract / case report. Changes will not be possible to your abstract / case report after it is submitted.
  16. You will receive an abstract / case report ID number via email after you have submitted your abstract / case reports. Please refer to this abstract / case report number in all correspondence regarding the abstract / case report.
  17. Please refer to your abstract / case report by number, title, and presenting author in all correspondence regarding the abstract / case report. Please contact the organizing team (office@napcon2024.in) if you do not receive confirmation that your abstract / case reports have been received.
  18. The abstract should not contain broad statements like “The results will be discussed”,
  19. The rights of Acceptance for all abstracts (In Category for Poster or Oral) will be reserved by the Scientific Committee.
 
All abstracts must be submitted with the following sections:

Mention the Key Words & word counts in the abstract as well as case reports.

NOTE: The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject any abstract, if the abstract is not submitted as per the guidelines or not registered before the 30th Sept.2024.

 

PUBLICATION OF PAPERS:
The papers that have been accepted will be published in proceedings of NAPCON 2024. Organizing Committee holds all publication rights including copyright unless otherwise intimated to the authors by Organizing Committee in writing.

Abstract / Case Report submitters’ declarations:
During abstract/case reports submission you will be asked to confirm that you agree to the following:

  1. I previewed this abstract / case report and that all information is correct. I accept that the content of this abstract / case report cannot be modified or corrected after final submission and I am aware that it will be published as submitted.
  2. Submission of the abstract / case reports constitutes the consent of all authors for presentation and publication (e.g. NAPCON website, programs, other promotions, etc.)
  3. The Abstract/case reports Submitter grants the Organizers a copyright license to reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the text of the Content on a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive basis.
  4. The Organizers reserve the right to remove from publication and/or presentation abstract/case reports which do not comply with the above.
  5. I understand that I must select a specific Theme, Topic, and/or Sub-Topic for my abstract / case reports allocation. Although the Committee will work hard to honour this selection, this cannot be guaranteed. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to change the Theme or Topic category under which the abstract / case reports were originally submitted.

How to Submit Abstract Online?

·       Abstract can be submitted only after the sign up for the conference.

·       Once the delegate has signed up and registered himself/herself.  the delegate will be eligible to submit the abstract without registration before 30th Sept.2024.
